Lauren Davis focuses on cannabis matters, including deals, compliance, and disputes. More particularly, Ms. Davis focus on cannabis M&A and other deals; cannabis regulatory compliance; cannabis license applications; patient and caregiver compliance; and related regulatory issues. She works closely with relevant cannabis regulatory agencies. Her clients include cannabis dispensary owners, infused products manufacturers, growers, and landlords, as well as hemp and CBD companies.
Ms. Davis is a true pioneer of Colorado’s cannabis industry. Colorado’s Governor appointed her to serve on the Law Enforcement Subcommittee of the Amendment 64 Taskforce, and was an alternate delegate to the general Task Force. She also served on a regulatory rule making committee of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division focused on analyzing and fine tuning rules to improve cannabis business operations.
Ms. Davis has been involved in historical and cutting edge marijuana litigation throughout the State of Colorado, including successfully enjoining the City of Centennial from banning dispensaries; stopping the Colorado Department of Health in an “emergency” attempt to change the definition of primary caregiver; and suing municipalities for attempting to ban businesses through adverse zoning regulations and more. She has also been retained as an expert witness and case consultant on cutting edge cases related to Colorado’s cannabis laws.
Ms. Davis began her legal career clerking for the New Jersey Supreme Court.
Ms. Davis teaches CLE courses educating attorneys and regulators about Colorado’s marijuana laws.
