Mr. Cueto focuses on energy matters, with an emphasis on electricity (renewable and conventional) and natural gas. He is the co-head of the firm’s energy and infrastructure groups.

He advises clients in the development, construction, financing (through project finance structures , through the issuance of bonds and through other structures), operation and maintenance of small, medium and large-scale energy projects, as well as in sectoral mergers and acquisitions and in the conclusion of association contracts ( joint ventures ), as well as in regulatory matters and litigation in energy matters.

He represents the full spectrum of industry participants, including sponsors, developers, project companies, lenders (commercial banks, public banks, multinational agencies, export credit agencies, private equity funds and other capital providers), insurers, contractors and other investors.

Francisco worked as a foreign associate at the New York and Mexico City offices of Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle (1991-1994) and was a partner at his own firm (1994-1999).
